Maidstone town centre stab victim named as Andre Bent

A man who died after a row broke out in Maidstone town centre has been named.

Family members of Andre Bent posted emotional tributes to him after he died on Sunday as police were called at about 3am to reports of a disturbance near the High Street.

Four London men were arrested and an investigation is being led by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

Police confirmed a 21-year-old man died from stab wounds.

Posting on Twitter Andre's cousin, Louis Annan, said: "Rest in peace Andre Bent. I love you forever."

In another post he added: "He was studying at [London South Bank University] with me and was due to graduate from his bachelors degree the same time I got my PhD.

People in Maidstone reacted to the news

"I feel like a piece of me is missing."

Andre's sister, Michaela Bent, said: "Rest in perfect peace baby brother. I love you more than life itself. You will get your justice this will not go unanswered for."
