In this dismal age of Covid, we all need something to cheer us up, and what better to remind us of lazy summer days than a sunflower?
The Morrisons supermarket chain has launched a nationwide Seeds Of Hope campaign and is giving away 2.5m packs of sunflower seeds to customers throughout its stores. But the branch at Larkfield has gone a little bit further.
There staff have filled the store with sunflowers, balloons and bright colours to help carry the message of hope for a brighter future.
Community champion Jess Coleman said: "We have been making up sunflower packs for our local children which included a pack of seeds, a sunflower diary, a fun fact sheet about the sunflower, a sunflower keyring and a little sweet treat.
"We wanted to do that little extra to brighten their day."
She said: "I feel very strongly about this campaign, as we try our utmost to put the community at the heart of everything we do."
Younger shoppers can even take a sunflower colouring picture home.
