Floral tribute tied to lampost along A256 Whitfield Bypass after woman in 40s died in fatal crash between Dover and Sandwich

Flowers have been left by a dual carriageway after a woman in her 40s was tragically killed in a crash.

The floral tribute has been tied to a lampost on the A256 Whitfield Bypass at the junction with Sandwich Road where the accident happened on Sunday evening.

An orange Ford Ranger was travelling towards Dover and was turning right into Sandwich Road when it was involved in a collision with a black BMW M Sport Coupe which had been travelling north towards Sandwich.

Emergency services were called to the bypass at about 6.35pm and closed the road in both directions for several hours.

The victim, who was a passenger in the Ranger, was seriously injured and died at the scene.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage which might assist enquiries, to get in contact.
