Fire in West Street, Sittingbourne

A child and two adults were rescued by firefighters using a ladder after a fire broke out in their first-floor flat.

The blaze broke out this afternoon in the flat above a commercial property in West Street, Sittingboure.

A man and a woman, along with the child, were led to safety by fire crews before being handed over to the care of paramedics.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
