Kai Clarke, from Margate, charged with GBH with intent after High Street assault

A man has been charged with an assault in Margate town centre.

Police were called to the High Street just before 4am last Thursday following a report of a disturbance.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and the area was sealed off for several hours.

Kai Clarke, of Park Place, was arrested that evening, and charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent the following day.

He appeared at Canterbury Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody until April 30, when he will appear at Canterbury Crown Court.
