Man dies in motorbike crash in Ramsgate

A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a barrier on a dual carriageway.

Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to the A299 Thanet Way at Cliffsend just before 2pm yesterday afternoon.

Police have now confirmed a man in his 30s from Ramsgate, who was riding a red Honda 250 motorcycle, died at the scene.

He was travelling towards Ramsgate when the accident happened.

The busy route was closed between the Sevenscore and Lord of the Manor roundabouts for almost seven hours while police investigated the circumstances.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit now want to hear from anyone who may have seen the motorcycle in the moments before the crash, or who may have dashcam footage.
