Tonbridge family set for Channel 5 TV show 10,000BC

A Tonbridge family will be heading to Bulgaria to take part in Channel 5’s newest reality TV show, ‘10,000BC’, which hits screens on Monday.

The Hardings will ditch 21 century life and head back in time, to a set recreating the Stone Age.

It is part of a social experiment for 20 contestants trying to survive for two months in the wild. A forest in the Eastern European country will be the setting for the show.

Mum Rachel said the family blame eldest daughter, Emily, for their inclusion on the line up of hopefuls.

Mrs Harding said: "She saw the advert and said ‘that sounds just like us’. And we all looked it and thought, ‘Actually, that is quite a good premise’. We can be a family and do it all together. Do it as a group and go back together to learn all the skills.’"

Many people would struggle without Wi-Fi for more than five minutes in today’s society, but the Hardings say they are used to this lifestyle, being connoisseurs of outdoor life.

The Harding family are Paul, 46, Rachel 48 and daughters Emily, 23, Mary, 22 and Alice, 20.

The show will air on Channel 5 at 10pm on Monday and Tuesday for eight weeks.
