New Goudhurst Inn pub manager invites neighbours in for a drink

There’s a new manager at The Goudhurst Inn.

The popular pub in Cranbrook Road, Goudhurst, is part of the Balfour Winery estate and is being relaunched with a reception for villagers to meet the new man in charge today (August 10).

Alex Curtis, 37, who is originally from Essex, previously managed premium restaurants and country pubs in Surrey and West Sussex, working with companies such as Young's & Co and Red Mist Leisure.

He said: “Those companies shared the same ethos as Balfour Hospitality, that is championing strong ties and collaboration with local suppliers and producers to serve up interesting menus using fresh, local, seasonal produce.

“My aspirations for The Goudhurst Inn are simple: to earn a great reputation as the best place to eat, drink and stay within Goudhurst and our neighbouring communities.

“We want people to feel this is a home-from-home, receiving a warm welcome every time they walk through our doors.”

Customers are invited to call in today (August 10) between 5pm and 8pm to meet Mr Curtis and have a drink and nibbles on the house.
