Rock the Mote music festival comes to Maidstone

A new festival will bring a string of top tribute acts to Maidstone’s Mote Park.

Just days after the 450 acre park played host to the Ramblin’ Man Fair, the Rock the Mote Festival comes to the park on Saturday, August 3.

The day of performances celebrating some of the biggest acts from the past and present will feature Coldplay tribute Viva La Coldplay, Oasis and Blur tribute the Britpop Collective, Protostereo, Foo Fighters GB and Fleetwood Bac.

Coldplay tribute act Viva La Coldplay formed in 2006, and have toured across the UK and Europe, playing to crowds of more than 20,000, playing hits like Yellow, Clocks, Paradise and Adventure of a Lifetime.

Just Floyd are a Kent-based band who play classic Floyd tracks such as Wish You Were Here, Shine on You Crazy Diamond and the whole of the Dark Side of the Moon album as well as songs from the early days.

ProtoStereo pay homage to two of the biggest bands - Muse and The Killers.

Endorsed by Mick Fleetwood himself, Fleetwood Bac are the only Mac tribute to authentically replicate the classic Rumours line-up.

There will also be DJs, a beer, cider and ale village, street food, cocktails and fairground rides.

Organisers also want festivalgoers to dig out their leg warmers, flairs and mullets, and embrace fancy dress from the 70s, 80s and 90s, as there will be prizes for the best dressed.

The event runs from 2pm to 10pm. There are still some tickets available.
