Two Kent stores will see an extended trial of Poundland's Pep&Co children's clothing range as part of a nationwide pilot.

The Pep&Co discount clothing outlets have sprung up within existing Poundland stores and the larger 'kidswear' range will now be extended to its stores in Dartford and Queenborough, on Sheppey.

It comes as it pilots the wider ranger in 50 of its 300-plus Pep&Co 'shop-in-shops' nationwide.

The retailer says the move is a result of a "growing need for value-for-money kids' clothing on high streets as established names such as Mothercare disappear".

Prices for Pep&Co kidswear start at £1 per item and 95% of the range sells for under £10.

Sarah Morgan, commercial director at Pep&Co said: “We’re developing a real reputation for our kidswear – because of the price, but also because it washes and wears well. That’s why we’re devoting more space than ever to clothing for kids in these stores."
