Person trapped in the back of a white lorry travelled through Ashford after entering Kent from the continent

Six people who were 'trapped' in the back of a moving lorry which travelled through Kent have been detained.

Police received a distress call this morning from someone saying they were stuck in the back of a vehicle.

The person said the lorry, which entered Kent from the continent, was travelling along the A414 at North Weald but did not know where it was heading.

It was also discovered that the vehicle had driven through Ashford at around 7am.

Following this, an appeal was launched for all drivers of white lorries who came into Kent today to check their trailers.

Now, police have revealed that the lorry was located by Bedfordshire Police.

Six people believed to be in the country illegally have been detained.

Police thanked everyone who had assisted in the search for their help.
