A fire in an empty industrial unit is being treated as suspicious.

The blaze broke out on a business estate in Brunswick Road, Ashford, at around 11.30am on Sunday.

Firefighters from Ashford tackled it. Crews wearing breathing apparatus went into the building.

A spokesman said: “The unit was heavily smoke-logged so we used a large ventilator to clear it.

“It was in the middle of a row of units but there was no danger of the fire spreading.”

The cause is being treated as suspicious.
