A motorcyclist killed after an accident the A2070 in Ashford at the weekend has been named.

He was Martin Broomfield, 28, of Kingsnorth Road, Ashford.

An inquest which opened this morning heard that Mr Broomfield died of multiple injuries at the William Harvey Hospital.

This followed the accident at about 5 .40pm last Sunday on Bad Munstereifel Road at the approach of the slip road for Hamstreet.

Police say it is believed that Mr Broomfield’s Yamaha R6 and a Peugeot 106 had been in collision.

The car driver was unhurt.

Coroner Rachel Redman, adjourned the inquest at Ashford for a date to be fixed.
