Motorcyclist taken to London hospital after serious crash in Kennington near Ashford

A has reopened after a serious accident involving a car and a motorcycle.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene of the crash on Faversham Road in Kennington, near Ashford at 5.20am today.

The motorcyclist's injuries are described as serious, and a police spokesperson told KentOnline the man received roadside treatment before being taken to a London hospital.

The air ambulance is said to have landed on Spearpoint Recreation Ground.

Police officers closed the road to complete enquiries into the incident and clean up an oil spillage, but a spokesperson confirmed that it was reopened by 10am.

A spokesperson for the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said: “I can confirm that SECAmb was called at approximately 5.25am today (26 February) to reports of an RTC involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

“Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey, Sussex.

“The motorcyclist was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken by road to Kings College Hospital in London with serious injuries.”
