Crews were first called to Bromley Green Road at about 6pm, accompanied by the British Red Cross.

Four fire engines attended the scene while all of the occupants were able to escape safely and no injuries were reported.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used compressed air foam and jets of water to tackle the blaze.

Firefighters remained at the scene until 7.30am today, but while they were able to extinguish the fire they were unable to save the property.

The roof has collapsed and the windows at the front of the building have turned opaque because of the smoke and soot caused by the blaze.
