Highways bosses have been forced to close a road after a "disgusting" amount of fly-tipping was dumped in a quiet country lane.

Sofas, chairs, TVs and fridges are among the household items left strewn across Lenacre Street near Kennington in Ashford.

Shocked resident Teresa Morgan says "enormous piles" of waste have been dumped.

She said: "It would be great if someone recognised the goods and dobbed in the culprits to the council.

"There are enormous piles of sofas, chairs, TVs, fridges, stools, and general waste and rubble.

"It is disgusting fly-tipping."

It is not yet known when the road will reopen.
