Folkestone Invicta are slashing prices for this weekend’s home game with Walton Casuals following last Saturday’s unexpected thrashing at the Buzzlines Stadium.

Manager Neil Cugley (pictured) and the players will make up the shortfall in gate returns as they look to reward their loyal fans who, up until last weekend, hadn’t seen the team lose at home this season.

Folkestone were on the end of a shock 4-0 home defeat to Merstham in Ryman League Division 1 South.

Cugley said: “I didn’t see that one coming and their centre forwards gave us the run-around. It’s disappointing because we know how well we can play. It’s all about bouncing back now.

“We are lucky to have such a good fan base here with good people who come to support us and it is the right thing to do.

“We feel we have let them down.”

Admission for adults will be just £4 – half the usual £8 – while concessions will be charged £2 from the normal £5 admission price.

One player who was missed at the weekend was defender Liam Friend, through suspension but he will be back this weekend.

“We do miss him because he has a lot of pace,” said Cugley.

Friend is likely to slot straight back into the team but midfielder Darren Marsden is unavailable.
