Four arrested in police raids across Ashford

Police arrested four people after officers raided four addresses in Ashford on Monday morning.

The arrests related to a range of offences including drugs, burglary and vehicle crime. Officers also seized cash, drugs and property.

Ch Insp Hayley Spedding, the district commander of Ashford, said: "This is a wide-reaching operation designed to deter, disrupt and prevent criminals committing offences in the Ashford area."

One of the addresses raided was in St Teresa's Close close to the town centre. Two police vans and a forensics van were at the scene for most of the morning.

The operation has been carried out to target crime and anti-social behaviour across the borough.

Kent Police's tactical operations unit, including police dog handlers and the motorcycle unit joined neighbourhood teams and volunteer special constables in the raids.

During the operation, search warrants will be carried out and officers will visit scrap yards to disrupt the theft of vehicles and metal.

The four people arrested are still in custody while they are questioned by police.
