Four members of Tenterden Swords Fencing Club have been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Veterans Championships in Moscow later this month.

The four are Ralph Johnson of Bethersden, John Hyde of St Michael’s, Alan Ault of Dallington and Jane Clayton of Herne Bay.

Johnson has been a senior international for many years having captained the GB team in addition to fencing at four Olympics. Clayton, also a former senior international, has enjoyed a great run of success as a veteran, most recently with medals from the summer Commonwealth Veterans’ Championships in Jersey.

Ault continues to win medals despite having two artifical knees. Hyde is the newcomer, winning his first international cap after an outstanding result at the national veterans’ championships.
