Police appeal after three teenagers rob cyclist in Ashford alleyway

A good Samaritan who went to the aid of a teenage girl after she asked for help was then robbed by her and two boys.

The cyclist was pushing his bicycle along an alleyway between Park Place and Cade Road in Ashford when he came across the trio, aged between 15 and 16.

The girl then asked for help, but as he approached her, one of the youngsters hit him with a metal object.

He then tried to cycle into Cade Road, but was attacked again by one of the boys. The gang then stole £400, two packets of cigarettes and a mobile phone from him.

He suffered a serious cut to the head that needed hospital treatment.

The boys are described as 15 to 16 years old with skinny builds. One was white and the other black.

The girl is described as slightly built, with shoulder-length brown hair and wearing a white top.

The incident happened between 3am and 4am on Saturday, July 23, but police have only just released details.

Police Constable Christopher Horan said: "This was an unprovoked attack that left a man seeking to help a girl requiring hospital treatment.

"We would be keen speak to anybody in the area who witnessed the robbery or has any information that may help us with our enquiries."
