Girl hit by car in Ashford at North Street and Somerset Road junction

Police are investigating after a child was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing.

The young girl was taken to hospital following the incident in Ashford town centre.

Emergency services were called to North Street at 5.45pm on Friday, May 28.

The child, who was a pedestrian, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital and was later discharged.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and spoke to officers at the scene, which was at the junction with Somerset Road.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw the incident, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage, to step forward.
