Leon Camier has had a successful operation to repair his broken wrist and has begun his rehabilitation in an attempt to ride again this season.

The 24-year-old from Ashford had surgery last week after crashing during qualifying for the German round of the World Superbike Championship at the Nurburgring.

Speaking on his official website, Camier said: “Surgery went really well. I’m looking forward to being back home and will be working on getting back to full fitness as soon as I can.

“Thanks again to everyone for their support and well wishes.”

The next round of the championship is at Imola on September 26, with the final event, at Magny Cours in France, on October 3
