Leon Camier will remain with the Aprilia Racing team for the 2011 World Superbike season.

The reigning British Superbike champion, from Ashford, has achieved three podium finishes and numerous top 10 placings during his debut season in the event.

He was on course for a top five championship finish until he required surgery on a broken wrist sustained during qualifying at the Nurburgring.

He said: “I’m really excited to be able to continue with Aprilia and build on what I’ve learnt this year.

"We’ve done a lot of work on our set-up so hopefully next year we can take even more steps forward.

"I’ve got a lot of ideas for the winter and will be working hard ready for next season.

"The operation on my wrist went well and I’m focusing on getting back to full fitness as soon as possible as I can’t wait to get back in shape and on the bike.”

Camier will miss round 12 of the World Superbike Championship at Imola this weekend due to his injury.

A decision is yet to be made on whether he will ride at the final round in France on October 3.
