Faulty traffic lights fixed at junction 10 on the M20, Ashford

Faulty traffic lights at a busy motorway junction that have been causing major problems for drivers have now been fixed.

The malfunctioning lights at the junction 10 roundabout off the M20 near Willesborough had been causing traffic issues for weeks, with only half of the lights on the roundabout working and faulty lights also on the M20 London bound slip road.

The traffic lights on the roundabout and the slip road are now operating properly again as of Wednesday.

A spokesman for UK Power Networks said: “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

“Our engineers believed they had restored power to the traffic lights and initially referred the issue back to Highways England. However, we returned to resolve the problem on Monday.”

A spokesman for Highways England said: “The lights on the roundabout were out due to a power fault.

“We have been in contact with UK Power Networks to install an electrical supply to the traffic signal column.

“We stressed the urgency of this repair and are happy that this is has now been completed.”
