A busy road has been blocked after a serious incident involving a pedestrian.

Police and ambulance crews are in attendance at the A28 Canterbury Road in Ashford between Cemetery Lane and Heathfield Road.

The Stagecoach bus services that serve the area are being diverted via Trinity Road.

A spokesperson for Stagecoach posted on X: “Due to a serious road traffic collision on the A28 Canterbury Road by Bybrook - all services will be diverting away from the area.

“Services will run via Trinity Road and attempt to serve most of Kennington where possible.”

The traffic reporting service Inrix says: “A28 Canterbury Road in both directions blocked, delays due to accident, a vehicle and a pedestrian involved between Cemetery Lane and Heathfield Road.”

It is understood that a driver was taken ill.
