James King, from Speldhurst Close, charged with handling stolen goods and possession of cannabis

A 50-year-old man is to appear in court charged with handling stolen goods in Ashford.

James King of Speldhurst Close, Ashford, was arrested and charged on Tuesday with two counts of handling stolen goods in relation to stolen bank cards used at a shop in Stanhope Road, Ashford on January 5, and a stolen bank card that was used at a store in Brookfield Court last year, on November 7.

The cards were originally reported stolen following a burglary in Frittenden Close on November 7 as well as a reports of a theft from a car in Wotton Road on January 5.

Mr King was also charged with possessing four grams of cannabis in Stanhope Road.

He has been released on bail and is set to attend Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on April 18.
