Nine hurt after disturbance at 18th birthday party in Kennington, Ashford

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after youths gatecrashed an 18th birthday party in Ashford.

Eight others - five men and three women - were also allegedly assaulted at Kennington Women's Institute Hall on Saturday night.

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man and two teenage boys on suspicion of assault and criminal damage following the disturbance.

Officers say the man left seriously injured - who was treated by ambulance crews at the scene - is now in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A number of windows at the site in Faversham Road, which can be rented out from £15 an hour, have now been boarded up.

On the same night as the party, multiple car wing mirrors were damaged in the area, with vehicles parked in Lower Vicarage Road, Upper Vicarage Road and Church Road all affected.
