Man treated for burns after vehicle being welded catches fire in Ashford

A man has been treated for burns after a vehicle he was welding caught fire and spread to another van and car.

Two fire engines were sent to Steeds Lane in Kingsnorth, Ashford, where crews used high pressure hose reels to put out the blaze shortly after 5.30pm.

The man was given oxygen and had his burns cooled with running water before being passed into the care of ambulance teams.

The fire also damaged the facia, soffits and window frame of a house.
