Ashford murder victim at flats in Bybrook Road, Kennington, named locally as 51-year-old Lee Walden

A man found dead at a block of flats in Ashford which has sparked a murder inquiry has been named locally.

Police descended on Cherry Tree House flats in Kennington yesterday, and the victim has been named as 51-year-old Lee Walden.

Two people remain in custody today after officers were sent to the flats in Bybrook Road yesterday morning.

Mr Walden lived in one of the ground floor flats where his body was found at 6.40am yesterday.

Paramedics were called but pronounced him dead at the scene.

Forensics officers spent several hours at the flats and police said he had suffered head injuries.

A murder investigation has now been launched with a 38-year-old man and 32-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder.

A police spokesman confirmed the pair are currently being held in custody.
