Driving range and paintball complex Great Chart Golf and Leisure in Ashford closed

A popular driving range and paintball site has closed - but its owners say they plan to open it again soon.

Notices have been posted on social media and outside the gates of Great Chart Golf and Leisure, off Bears Lane, Ashford, announcing its closure.

Mystery surrounds why the site - which offers a range of sport activities - has now shut.

A post on the centre's Facebook page says: "Dear customers, due to circumstances we will be closed until further notice, but hope to open again soon.

"We will keep you up to date through this page and our website.

"We apologise for any inconvenience."

A sign hung on the gates at the entrance of the centre reads: "Due to unforeseen circumstances we are currently closed, but we hope to be opening again soon."

It is not known how long the site - which is home to a driving range, golf course, archery and paintball - will remain closed, but it has long been a popular Ashford attraction.

It is run by brothers Grant and John Kay, who were fined last year for allowing a number of hauliers to dump waste at the attraction in exchange for payment.
