The hunt for a “fat” pervert who assaulted two women in Ashford has widened, with an appeal on BBC television’s Crimewatch programme.

Almost exactly one year ago, the Kentish Express reported how the suspect - distinctive due to his chubby face and baseball hat – had attacked a 17-year-old girl as she walked to school near the Millennium Community Wood in Singleton, Ashford, on June 29, 2012.

Then a 40-year-old woman was sexually molested while she was walking her dog near Brittannia Lane in Knights Park on Thursday, September 6, 2012.

Two separate e-fit pictures were released at the time.

Now officers from Kent Police have appealed for the help of Crimewatch viewers to help close the case.

DS Matt Banks appeared on the programme last Thursday, urging anyone with information about the two sexual assaults in the town to come forward.

If you have information which could help police in their inquiries, contact Kent Police on 01303 289600 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111 555.
