Passengers evacuated from bus fire in Willesborough

Passngers fled a bus that caught fire.

The blazed filled the single decker with smoke yesterday.

Three to five people, including the driver, evacuated the Stagecoach bus at Church Road, Willesborough at around 5pm.

Ashford station firefighter Garry McPhee said: "The driver was pretty quick in getting everyone out so thankfully nobody was hurt."

The blaze started in the engine but did not spread further.

Two fire engines from Ashford were called and were at the scene for half an hour.
