Passengers hurt in three-vehicle crash

An urgent appeal for witnesses to a serious crash that saw a car passenger airlifted to hospital has been made by police.

It follows a collision between a Silver Ford Escort, a recovery truck and a Ford Focus in Guldeford Lane, Brookland on Romney Marsh at around 1pm on Friday afternoon.

A passenger in the Ford Escort sustained a serious injury and was airlifted to Kings hospital in London.

A second passenger and the driver were taken by land ambulance to the Conquest hospital in Hastings with minor injuries, as was an occupant of the Ford Focus.

Kent Police's Serious Crash Investigation Unit (SCIU) attended and the road was closed while police examined the scene.

The SCIU have released an urgent appeal to the driver of a red car, travelling from Sussex, who they believe may have witnessed the collision.

That driver and anyone else who witnessed the collision is asked to call the SCIU on 01622 798538.
