Pedestrian hit by car on A28 Chart Road in Ashford

A teenage boy has been hit by a car on a main road.

Police and ambulance services were called to the A28 Chart Road, Ashford, at about 11.50am.

Two ambulances were sent to the scene where the teenager was treated and then taken to the William Harvey Hospital.

It is not clear how severe his injuries are.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to Chart Road, Ashford at around 11.50am today, regarding a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

"South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended and a teenage boy was treated for injuries before being taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

"The road was closed while emergency services were at the scene and re-opened at around 2pm."
