A man in his 70s was injured and taken to hospital after being hit by a car last night.

Emergency crews rushed to Brookfield Road, in Ashford at around 6.30pm after reports of an accident involving a black Honda Civic car and a pedestrian.

A police spokesman said the man suffered injuries, which were not thought to be life-threatening.

He was taken to the William Harvey Hospital.
