Police appeal after Ashford assault leaves man with cut to face

Police are appealing for witnesses, after a delivery van driver was assaulted in Ashford on Saturday.

The 49-year-old victim was on the way to making a delivery when he was attacked, resulting a cut to his face which needed hospital treatment.

The driver was travelling along Towers View, Kennington, at around 2.45pm, when he noticed a light on his dashboard was flashing to say his rear doors were open.

He pulled over and checked the back of the vehicle when he was punched in the side of the face as he turned around.

The offender, who was wearing a dark-coloured jacket, then ran off.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
