Police want to talk to a good Samaritan who intervened when a woman was attacked in an Ashford car park.

A member of the public then tried to intervene, and the man and woman left the area.

The assault happened at 1pm on Saturday.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man from Sturry on suspicion of assault on the same day. He has been released on bail until December 20.

Investigating officer PC Cameron Temple said: "We are investigating a report of a very public assault in the car park of a busy industrial estate.

"We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident.

"In particular we would like to speak to the good Samaritan, the gentleman who tried to intervene during the assault, as he may have information which could assist our investigation."

Anyone with information can call police on 01843 222289 quoting ZY/59814/17, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
