Police appeal after burglary at Locomotive pub in Beaver Lane, Ashford

The police are appealing for information after a burglary at the Locomotive Pub in Beaver Road, Ashford.

Money, a handbag and three watches were stolen from a flat above the pub in the early hours of Saturday morning.

After the incident was reported, a police helicopter was used in an attempt to find the offender, however it was unsuccessful.

The owner of the pub , Matt Barham, said: "We finish trading at 1am, so we were clearing up downstairs when it happened.

"They took advantage, it's a violation of our privacy."

A police spokeswoman said: "Police was called at 1.49am on Saturday to a report of a burglary at a pub in Beaver Road, Ashford.

"A quantity of cash, three watches and a handbag were reported stolen.

"Officers attended and the police helicopter was also called to assist in the search for the offender.

"No arrests have been made but enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
