Hundreds of drivers ended up stuck at Drovers Roundabout for up to 45 minutes during rush hour last night (Tuesday).

There was traffic chaos as all five lanes of vehicles approaching the junction, also known as the Cow Roundabout, came to a standstill between 4pm and 7pm.

Kent Police said they received a lot of calls from motorists about issues in Simone Weil Avenue and Fougeres Way.

A spokesman said a bus broke down by the Waitrose store but it was cleared by 5pm.

Other drivers said that traffic lights around the roundabout were out of sequence.
