A £17.9 million investment at Ashford’s North School has been praised by the leader of Kent County Council.

The school has been revamped as one of six new state-of-the-art secondary schools benefiting from a £100m cash injection.

It has had £17.9m invested from the Government’s Private Finance Initiative.

KCC leader Paul Carter visited the school and said: “These buildings wouldn’t look out of place on the most prestigious business parks – they are a world away from what they replaced and the students are really responding to the new surroundings.”

Cllr Carter also undertook a tree planting during the visit.
