WATCH: Pair film themselves breaking in to unfinished Ashford College building

A video has surfaced of two lads appearing to break into the new Ashford College building and filming their own guided tour.

The dark-lit footage, which was filmed at night, captures the new corridors at the multi-million pound college on the corner of Elwick Road and Station Road.

But the unfinished site is still well under construction and the pair, who are not identified in the video, have been criticised for accessing the "dangerous" campus.

One man has recorded a voice-over for the video, which describes the duo avoiding security staff and balancing on overhanging scaffolding on the roof.

At one point the narrator says: "That light you can see right ahead is where the security stay at night, hopefully they don’t see us."

He also says there will be a lot more videos coming from his YouTube channel ‘V18brandon’, including "crane climbs, underground tunnels, warehouses, abandoned buildings and hospitals".

As the pair make their way around the building, the narrator says: "Just got to climb across a little hole here, it’s not too dangerous, but dangerous is fun.

"Had to stop for a minute back there, because my mate’s a bit dumb and had couldn’t work out how to climb under a bit of scaffolding."

The narrator even points out two cherry pickers just outside the entrance and says: "If there wasn’t the security about we could have jumped in them and had a little drive up and down."

At the end of the video, the pair brazenly walk out the main doors and wait for traffic to pass before leaving the site undetected.

A spokesperson for BAM Construction, the company that has been working on the campus, said: "We take any breach of site security very seriously.

"Construction sites are very dangerous places and we urge the public not to enter without authorisation.

"Since this incident was brought to our attention, we have increased the number of CCTV cameras around the perimeter, which are linked to security control, and secured all external entrances to the new Ashford College building with immediate effect."

It’s understood the video has been reported to police and officers are investigating.

Kent Police has been contacted for a comment.
