Teenagers due in court after car, wallet and phones stolen from property in The Street, Willesborough in Ashford

Two 16-year-olds have been charged after a car was stolen during a burglary.

Officers were called to a property in The Street, Willesborough in Ashford at about 2.35am on Monday following reports a car and keys were missing, along with a wallet and two mobile phones.

An hour later a 16-year-old boy was arrested after the suspected stolen vehicle was traced to Forstal Road in Aylesford.

The car was recovered along with the other missing items.

The suspect, from Strood, was charged with burglary, attempted burglary and aggravated vehicle taking without consent.

On Tuesday, a second teenager, aged 16 from Basildon in Essex was also charged with the same offences.

Both suspects have been remanded and are due to appear before Medway Youth Court on Wednesday.
