Workers have been spotted in a supermarket car park lowering a "brutal" speed bump just nine days after it was installed.

Tesco Park Farm, in Ashford, came under fire when the unusually-high traffic slowing ramp was introduced in the main car park.

Customers complained their cars scraped the floor as they went over the huge hump and some drivers claimed it "really shook them up."

But last week a spokesman for Tesco said they had no plans to remove the speed bump.

He said extra signs warning customers to slow down would be installed alongside the 5mph speed limit signs.

Drivers have now taken to social media to share their relief, with some customers saying they are pleased Tesco as "got the message."

A Tesco spokesman said: "We are always listening to feedback from our customers so we are currently making modifications to the speed hump in our Park Farm Extra car park."

The spokesman explained that the work taking place will widen the speed hump so cars will sit flatter on the hump before descending on the other side.
