A BOY of 14 has thanked the teachers who saved his life. Christopher Monkhouse collapsed after an exam and was later taken to hospital by air ambulance.

But paramedics said the first aid efforts of staff at Norton Knatchbull School, Ashford, saved his life. Christopher, who stopped breathing during the drama, is thought he suffered heart failure as a result of a virus.

Head teacher John Speller said: "We are very proud of our colleagues."
