Double the number of floral features brought in to areas like Ashford high street and Bank Street

They’re back. And it’s a case of double-bubble this year as Ashford town centre is once again blooming with a host or ornamental planters.

An Ashford Borough Council spokesman said: “This year we have placed 60 planters around the town centre, as part of our summer planting work in the town.

“Normally we only have 30 planters in use, but this year we have an extra 30 to mark the centenary of the First World War.

“There will be 30 planters with multi-coloured flowers (yellow, orange, red and pink), and 30 with plain red flowers. The total cost for this work is £18,600.

“We have used these displays for a number of years now, and have received positive feedback on how they help to brighten up the town."
