Tragedy as trio's car hits tree

A YOUNG man was killed and two other men were injured when their car left the road and crashed in a Kent village.

The red Honda CRX car struck a tree and a telegragh pole in School Hill at Warehorne, near Ashford, on Wednesday night.

Kent Police said a 19-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been named.

A second 19-year-old local man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford with serious injuries. A third man, also aged 19, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The tragedy happened at about 5.45pm. It is understood no other vehicles were involved. The road was closed for several hours while Kent Police's Serious Crash Investigation Unit attended.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident, or the vehicle prior to the incident, to contact the PC Paul Biddle on witness line on 01622 798537.
