A woman has appealed to shoppers who might have picked up her wedding ring, which she has lost after 46 years.

Irene Collison, of Tenterden, believes the ring slipped off her finger while she was at a boot fair at Port Lympne wild animal park on Saturday.

Mrs Collison, 64, said: "I’ve recently lost weight and I had noticed my rings were slipping on my fingers, but I didn’t think to take them off.

"At the boot fair my hands were in and out of my pockets and it must have just slipped off. I noticed it had gone when we stopped for a coffee.

"My husband went back to the boot fair to see if he could see it anywhere, but didn’t have any luck. I’ve looked everywhere at home, but haven’t found it.

"I feel naked without it. It’s been on my finger for 46 years."

The thick gold band was engraved with a pattern, but the pattern has almost entirely worn away

Anyone who finds it is asked to phone 01580 761763.
