Woman seriously hurt in Dymchurch road accident

An elderly woman had to be cut from the wreckage of a car after a serious accident this morning.

Police closed the road following the collision between a Peugeot and Rover 25 on the A259 at Dymchurch, close to the Marley Farm holiday village, at 6.32am.

The 81-year-old woman driver of the Peugeot was taken to the William Harvey Hospital with serious injuries, after firefighters removed the roof of her car.

The driver of the Rover 25 was not seriously injured.

The two dogs in the Peuegot were uninjured and were taken to a nearby vets’ practice. The road re-opened at 11.50am.
