Driver sent to hospital after 'crashing car into grass bank'

A woman driver has been taken to hospital after crashing into a bank in a country lane.

Firefighters were called to help the ambulance service at 11.30pm last night in Swan Lane at the junction with Eggerton Road in Pluckley, Ashford.

The black Skoda Octavia had allegedly "left the road, went up the bank and came to rest," according to firefighter Glen Stephenson.

He said: "I don't know how it left the road, the driver was removed we didn't have to cut her out.

"Paramedics sent her to hospital and we assisted them."

Ambulance spokesman Rich Airey said: "One ambulance crew attended the scene following reports of a road traffic collision shortly after 11pm.

"One woman was assessed and treated for back pain before being taken to William Harvey Hospital."

No other vehicles were involved.
