KENT youngsters will have the chance to run with some of the rising stars of British athletics when the Julie Rose Stadium hosts the Norwich Union Under-23 international on August 2.

The meeting organisers are inviting keen junior competitors between 9-11 years to take part in a junior challenge on the morning of the event.

All competitors will take part in a 60m sprint, standing long jump, soft javelin, speed bounce and relays between 10am and 11.30am. The international gets under way at noon.

Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis so entries must be in at the stadium by July 18.

There will be prizes for the three top scoring boys and the top three girls. All who enter will get a commemorative certificate to mark the occasion and free entry to the international with one adult.

It will be a great day for Ashford and for the Julie Rose Stadium following up on the success of the last junior international staged at the track. For more information contact the stadium on 01233 613131.
